The fourth installment of Drops of God centered on the friendship of Honoka, Hirokazu, Marianne, and Alexandre. The story mostly took place in the 1990s, when Marianne and Alexandre relocated to Japan with the idea of starting a new life. Marianne succeeded in establishing her foundation, but Alexandre found it difficult to fit into the strict framework of the school where he was teaching wine tasting. When Alexandre started having an affair with Honoka, things only grew worse; the real kicker was when Marianne and Honoka both became pregnant. Marianne was undoubtedly Alexandre’s choice, while Hirokazu seemed to save Honoka’s situation. Issei wasn’t just some random kid who was granted the opportunity to compete for the L ger inheritance because he was the teacher’s favorite, it eventually became apparent. He is Camille’s half-brother as he is Alexandre and Honoka’s son.

Issei Searches For The Missing Hirokazu And Digs Into His Parents Past
Issei prevailed over Camille in the first round of tests set up by L. Ger by accurately evaluating the wine that was placed in front of him. In the second round, Issei and Camille must evaluate Fede Galizia’s painting to determine which wine is appropriate for the glass compote with peaches and jasmine blossoms, quinces, and a lone grasshopper. That painting that Alexandre displayed in one of his classes is, in fact, the same one. However, we were never informed of the connection between the painting and the wine. With the help of Issei and Camille’s exam, we should be able to decipher its true significance. The quest for the wine begins in the background as the character drama takes place in the foreground, beginning with the future of the Tomine Diamond empire, because it is a rather lengthy and difficult process (the first test took up four episodes).
Previously, Noboru Tomine, Issei’s grandpa, had advised him to leave the contest for Ger’s inheritance alone because it was tarnishing the Tomine family’s reputation. Issei refused to pay attention to that, which evidently infuriated Issei’s grandfather. In contrast, Noboru asserts during a press conference that he is very happy of Issei for his recent victory and that he is right to run for Lger’s wine company. To make sure they prevail in this round, Camille, Thomas, Miyabi, Lorenzo, and Luca return to the drawing board. Issei learns of Hirokazu’s disappearance, and oddly enough, Honoka makes an attempt to suggest that their dispute is the cause of his departure. We all know that Honoka’s frigid treatment of Hirokazu and her cutting remarks were the final straw. Honoka surprises Issei (as well as the viewer) by stating that she does not want to follow Hirokazu’s disappearance with the assistance of the police since it will raise unneeded controversy. Issei pulls Honoka out for saying that, saying it seems like a bunch of rubbish. Honoka refuses to go, so Issei departs with a photo of Hirokazu and himself.
Issei encounters Noboru as he is leaving and expresses his gratitude for his assistance to him. Issei receives a verbal smack from Noboru after he admits that his press release was a complete fabrication. He doesn’t want Issei to return to the Tomine household, therefore Issei’s only chance is to triumph in the L ger competition. Camille keeps looking for the enigmatic wine, and Miyabi and Lorenzo appear to be getting a little too intimate with one another. Then we go back to Issei, who has made the decision to contact the police, making the absence of his father somewhat public knowledge. He phones Katase Yurika, the journalist who has been after him and asks her to seek for Hirokazu after realizing that the cops won’t be much assistance. He agrees to conduct a television interview with her in return. Yurika accepts Issei’s request for assistance because she thinks he is now being sincere about himself.
When Camille first meets Luca, he makes her an offer to write for Alexandre’s Linger Guide, an annual book featuring wine reviews. Luca wants Camille to replace Alexandre since she is so skilled at what she does. Camille hesitates, but Luca arranges a meeting with the publisher. Issei, meanwhile, shows up at the college Honoka and Hirokazu formerly attended. Issei is most likely searching for his parents’ friends because he might be staying at their house, based on the questions he is asking. However, it also becomes apparent that he is attempting to comprehend the nature of the bond between Alexandre, Honoka, and Hirokazu. Issei only obtains the address of Alexandre’s translator since the university official isn’t permitted to provide any sensitive information.
Camille Considers Writing The Latest Edition Of The L ger Guide
Camille and Thomas had an amusing talk about happy and unhappy marriages, as well as the length of relationships, while drinking beers in a bar. Both Thomas and Camille are obviously attracted to one another. Thomas explains to Camille that he is married to Juliette and cannot betray her when she tries to give their feelings a physical manifestation. As a result, Camille gets turned down once more, which may be due to her decisions or her inability to interpret Thomas’ body language. However, as the episode shifts from an isolating shot of Camille at the bottom of the stairs to Issei standing in front of his room’s window and gazing into the distance, this creates a great comparison between the loneliness in both Camille and Issei. It is obvious that Issei spends his free time doing this as he is a stoic.
Issei receives a call from Katase, who sends him a screenshot of CCTV footage from a train station that she had obtained from a police buddy. In the midst of the crowd, Hirokazu is recognized by Issei. They don’t know which train Hirokazu took, but Katase claims that if they can pinpoint the time frame, they can find out where Hirokazu has gone. At least this shows that Hirokazu hasn’t chosen suicide because, for a split second, it appeared as though the guy had lost all motivation to live. By the way, she reminds him that he owes her an interview as soon as Issei says that Katase might be onto something. You need to keep in touch with your interviewee so that they don’t abruptly cancel on you. I realize it might seem silly to those who aren’t in the journalistic industry.
The next day, Issei practically breaks off his relationship with Honoka before going to the translator Yoko Sawaguchi’s home. Issei encounters Yoko’s adorable and animated granddaughter, Ayame, despite the fact that she isn’t available, and she invites him to return the next day to meet Yoko. However, Camille’s encounter with Jacques, the former publisher of her father, proceeds as planned. That seems that Alexandre did accept Marianne’s advice and work with Jacques despite his reservations about his tactics. Before discussing the subject, Luca and Jacques put Camille to the test, and she is enthralled by the wine they serve her.
After the exam, Luca and Jacques determine that the wine is one of Alexandre’s favorites, and she is required to describe other wines in the book in a similar manner to how she described the one in front of her. She reveals to Thomas that she’s really considering taking on the work of creating the Lger Guide, though she doesn’t provide a clear confirmation. This notion is dismissed by Thomas, who then challenges Camille. At the conclusion, Camille tells him to go permanently. Because they are in love, Lorenzo and Miyabi aren’t too disturbed by the ups and downs of Camille and Thomas’ relationship.
Issei Wants To Let Camille Know About Their Family Secret
Issei shows up for the interview with Katase, and after responding to some routine inquiries on the tests and his relationship with Lger, he declares that he is no longer with Tomine Diamonds. It’s perplexing to see Noboru, who is watching the interview on TV, acting irritated. Did he not wish Issei to stay away from the Tomine family forever? Or maybe it was a threat and Noboru thought Issei would beg him to take him back and regret his aspirations to become a legendary figure in the wine industry. It must have been too shocking for Noboru to witness everything turn to dust on a national scale, thus the reaction. Along with everything else, Issei expresses his love for Hirokazu, who is also watching the interview on television. He looks to be employed by a wayside restaurant and appears happy.
Thomas actually left Japan and is now in France, Camille learns. Despite the fact that she wipes away her tears and starts looking at Galizia’s picture, she still manages to convey that she is determined to stay in the game. Issei finally runs into Yoko, who offers him a choice between taking the pictures from his parents’ university days or sitting down and hearing the truth. Issei, of course, chooses the latter and finds out about the relationship between Alexandre and Honoka as well as how Hirokazu essentially pretended to be Issei’s father despite the fact that they aren’t biologically connected. We observe Issei picking up his phone at the end of Drops of God, Episode 5, likely to call Camille and share what he has learnt. He doesn’t follow through with it, though. Maybe it’s too much for Issei to process. Even though the show hinted at Issei’s relationship to Alexandre, setting us up for the unexpected, Issei must have been taken aback by it.
Issei wishes to end the tournament (of sorts) amicably because, after all, they are half-siblings, judging by his intention to call Camille. They don’t view each other as enemies because they have many things in common. Now, it’s completely possible that even if Camille and Issei decide to manage Alexandre’s estate together, Alexandre’s will will forbid it, compelling them to proceed with the tests regardless. In addition, the show needs to explore how Hirokazu and Honoka’s romance ended. In theory, Honoka ought to have appreciated Hirokazu’s support for her and her kid after Alexandre virtually abandoned them. Why did she pester Hirokazu to the point where he decided to quit everything and work as a cook at a roadside eatery? Did Honoka hate Hirokazu and Issei because of her loathing of Alexandre? Will Honoka become aware of how she has traumatized these two men without their consent and make an effort to make amends? The responses to these inquiries won’t be available until the following week.
