Saint X, an original mystery drama series on Hulu, continues to raise more questions than it does answers in episode 5. While it first appeared that the most significant events would take place in the past and that the present timeline would only be limited to the characters of Emily and Gogo, episode 5 largely alters this. Now that more historical figures have entered the present timeline, it appears that the present will ultimately be the most significant period. Emily continued to try her luck at learning more about what had happened to her older sister, Alison, after she had managed to become some type of friends with Gogo in the previous episode, 4, and she is currently doing the same.

Why Did Alison Want To Keep Her Distance From Edwin?
Back when they were on vacation at the Indigo Bay resort, Alison was enjoying the interaction between her two admirers as they drew near to her. On the one hand, Tyler persisted in trying to convince Alison, and he wanted to arrange a date night for her. Due to its natural beauty and the local story that an old witch who transforms people into goats haunts the area, Farway Island is the popular tourist destination for the area. Tyler went up to Edwin and asked him where he could find a boat to make arrangements for one. But according to resort policy, visitors had to be escorted by a local guide when visiting Farway Island. Although Edwin volunteers to be their boatman and guide, it is clear from the look on his face that he has twisted, and even malevolent, intentions. By this time, Tyler was also suspicious that Alison and Edwin were having a relationship, or at the very least, he thought they were drawn to one another. Now Tyler rejects Edwin’s offer and scraps the entire Faraway Island scheme. Instead, he requests that a romantic date be arranged for them on the beach, and Edwin assures him that he will do so. That evening, Tyler and Alison arrange to meet at the predetermined location on the beach for a romantic date. Everything is OK until the boy wants to have a physical relationship and Alison is not ready. The couple appears to be breaking up as Alison furiously walks away after Tyler makes several unsuccessful attempts to persuade her.
Olivia, the best friend, and Wes, the other boy their age, understand that everyone else is enjoying themselves or meeting new people for romantic relationships while they are on vacation. When Olivia notices Tyler trailing behind Alison as she walks away angry and decides to try themselves, the two start making out. As soon as Olivia realizes the couple has split up or gotten into an argument, she dashes after Tyler and calls to him. It was clear that Olivia was only getting close to Wes because she had nothing else to do and had no actual interest in him. She appears to want to comfort Tyler as soon as she has the opportunity, though, in the hopes of eliciting a response from him.
For Alison, the romantic adventure and excitement with Edwin remained on the other side. But there has also been a change in this area. Her father, Bill, had earlier begun to get concerned about her relationship with resort employee Edwin, and he still keeps a watch on the two. Bill must be aware of what is happening because he talks to his daughter about it. Bill warns Alison to be more cautious and circumspect about having a romance like this out in the open without being judgmental or preachy. The young woman initially interprets this differently and wonders whether her father is merely asking her to keep her romance a secret because Edwin is a member of a lower socioeconomic class. However, Bill persuades her that the only reason he is saying this is because Edwin may lose his job if word got out about Alison and Edwin’s intimate relationship because such contacts are categorically forbidden. After hearing this warning, Alison begins to understand how Edwin can lose his job as a result of her desire to have fun. She visits Edwin the following day and tells him that she entirely understands if he decides not to take their romance any further since she doesn’t want to jeopardize his employment. However, Edwin is not at all bothered by this as he immediately cracks jokes about Alison and informs his friend Desmond about his scheme. In order to avoid getting into problems even if her parents find out, Edwin plans to have sex with her on the final day of her vacation.
What Happens When Emily Follows Gogo To An Underground Art Show?
In the present, Emily is still after Gogo in an effort to learn more about the past. By this point, Emily has completely lost all interest in anything else and is just concerned with her new personal research, regardless of how it is affecting her personal connections or her job. Josh, her boyfriend, tries to bring up Emily’s recent troubles with her, but she doesn’t really engage in the discussion seriously. Josh remembers Alison’s birthday and wants to celebrate it with her, just like Bill and Mia in their own home, but Emily completely forgets because she is so preoccupied with pursuing Gogo and learning more about the past. As Emily searches online for further information, she even comes upon a video of Desmond leading a special tour of the key locations connected to Alison Thomas’s death, the island’s most scandalous incident to this day.
Josh informs Emily that he spotted her with a taxi driver in front of their house a few days ago, but Emily withholds any information about Gogo or their relationship when Josh asks her about it. She simply ignores the talk, claiming that the driver was only trying to be helpful by holding an umbrella for her since she didn’t have one with her. Both Emily and Sunita end up losing their jobs at the documentary film production company as a result of their refusal to listen when Sunita advises them to stop devoting so much of their time and energy to Gogo and instead concentrate on the urgent editing task at hand. Even after this, Emily doesn’t seem too upset and still searching for the past incessantly.
Tyler, who has grown up to become a doctor, was summoned earlier by the woman to go out to supper. Following a polite greeting, Tyler inquires about Emily’s true motivation for meeting him, and she enquires more about their time spent on the Caribbean island. Emily acknowledges that she was quite little and doesn’t remember much of it, so she queries Tyler for additional details. Since Tyler is certain that Edwin and Gogo committed the crime, he is now telling the story as he remembers and thinks it to be. He reveals that Edwin had a habit of engaging in intimate relationships with young people who came to the resort while disguising his deceptive nature behind his charm. Tyler doesn’t think Gogo was any better either because the man would always act on the advice of his best friend. The man then adds that Edwin might have relocated to the United States as he had always wanted to, and it was likely that Edwin was nearby them somewhere in New York City proper, whereas Gogo had been jailed for narcotics possession following the incident.
Gogo is earlier shown calling someone and explaining that even though he had avoided their contact for so long, he was now willing to meet with them again in order to heighten tension in this respect. Gogo returns to his favorite restaurant that evening after setting a time and location for the rendezvous. Although he rejects her once more when Emily approaches him at this point, she actually pursues him into a covert art exhibit. It turned out that the long-lost friend Gogo was meeting was Bery, the young woman who frequently looked after Gogo’s son at the resort, not Edwin. currently an artist, Bery currently resides in the US, and she is the one who planned the exhibition. Gogo explains to her that after chatting informally about the past with Emily at the restaurant, he felt the need to speak with someone who was familiar with it all. Bery acknowledges that she is fully aware of the history and that she comprehends Gogo’s predicament. Gogo reads over a letter or note that she also brings him and claims is from him; it is almost certainly from Edwin. As Emily watches from a corner, his expression shifts to one of rage, and Gogo exits the area.
The Caribbean restaurant where Gogo and Emily typically meet is visited by Emily’s boyfriend Josh at the conclusion of Saint X episode 5. The man doesn’t know that, so he either goes there to confirm his suspicions or just to get food. Josh does, however, scan the area suspiciously as if searching for someone or something. Since the best buddy was aware of this restaurant, it’s also possible that Sunita had finally told him where Emily keeps going to meet the taxi driver. When Josh does see Gogo, he immediately knows him as the man he had earlier seen with Emily outside of their apartment.
What Can We Expect From Saint X Episode 6?
The list of potential Alison’s killers has been growing, and Saint X will undoubtedly add more suspects to it in the upcoming episode. Episode 5’s opening scene depicted the night after Alison vanished at the Indigo Bay resort, and several suspects were identified. The first ones were undoubtedly Gogo and Edwin, the former praying and apologizing for something they had done, and the latter holding a white handkerchief (could it be Alison’s?) and directing them on how to handle the matter. Back at the resort, Tyler’s father persuaded him to lie to the police in the manner that his father had taught him to do so in order to avoid letting a girl ruin his life. It’s possible that Olivia, Alison’s best friend, and Tyler had gotten close after Alison broke up with the young man because Olivia was regretting something she had done and now felt terrible. The pregnant wife of Ethan offers that the two of them join the search efforts, but the husband states that he has no interest in doing so. The episode also reveals that the wife discovered Alison’s shorts, which Ethan had taken from the beach, and that she is now wearing them to woo her husband. Thus, Saint X wants us to think that any one of these individuals—or even all of them—could be somehow connected to Alison’s passing. We’ll have to wait and see if the next episode gives us any more of these signals. The current chronology also becomes quite significant because it appears that Edwin will shortly appear in the present. It is unclear what other revelations Saint X will make in that situation.
