It would be accurate to say that the School Spirits Season 1 finale revealed a lot of information and gave the story a turn we could not have predicted. When the series first began, we believed that Xavier had a problem, but as time went on, we understood that he was simply coping with a bully for a parent. However, beginning with School Spirits Episode 7, we began to suspect Mr. Martin since his irritation at Rhonda aiding Maddie did not line up with what we already knew about him. It turns out that our suspicions were correct.
Wally and Charlie’s research discloses the first of Mr. Martin’s lies, providing us with the solution. The fire that claimed his life was ignited by his own hand. However, that was not the cause of Mr. Martin’s humiliation and remorse. It was the knowledge that Janet had died along with him. The spirits recognize Janet as the first person to pass away, but Mr. Martin is the only one who appears to have seen it happen. However, when the spirits begin to learn his lies and the records he has kept about them, they come to understand that the scheme is more intricate than they could have ever imagined. In addition to being a part-time therapist, Mr. Martin is a very egotistical individual who is not above taking advantage of the spirits to further his own interests. He has recorded detailed bios for each ghost, but Janet is not mentioned in any of them. Our initial assumption would be that Janet was another of Mr. Martin’s lies if we knew how much Janet has interacted with the other ghosts or if they have even met her. However, Maddie is evidence that she isn’t. It’s possible that she was unaware that the soul she saw belonged to Janet, but once she and the other spirits fit the puzzle together, they will understand.
Maddie had been sobbing uncontrollably in the boiler room due of Simon’s incredulity at her presence. He no longer believes what he sees after seeing Maddie in the video that Nicole shared. But as Maddie hears sounds coming from a room, she feels that she has been in this situation before. When she heard noises after chatting to her mother, she had been in a similar circumstance and was sobbing on the floor. That’s when she discovered Mr. Martin in the old lab, but he wasn’t there by himself. Unbeknownst to Maddie, a shadowy figure had already started to move toward her. The shadowy entity had yanked Maddie’s spirit from her body and had stepped into it. Maddie still had a working body, thus she had not truly passed away. It was just that she was no longer in charge of her physical body. This explains why Maddie’s body had never been discovered since, in a sense, she was still alive.
Maddie repeats her activities in the present, her memories coming back to her as she goes. Both Maddie and the spirits are unable to unlock the door, thus they are both imprisoned within. She is warned by the ghosts to avoid Mr. Martin. Maddie recognizes that something is wrong when she meets him since her memories have returned and she suspects that he might not have her best interests in mind. This cliffhanger is how the season finishes.
What Happens To Janet?
Given Janet’s conduct, where she kidnapped Maddie’s corpse, it is reasonable to infer that she desires to return to the living. She has been imprisoned in the chemistry lab below for years; perhaps she is a vengeful spirit. She might have been imprisoned by Mr. Martin and is just now appreciating her freedom. Do not overlook the fact that the ghosts were unable to exit the chamber. This implies that Janet was likewise unable to exit the situation, which is why she took a gamble with Maddie’s body. Janet may now attempt to locate her kin or any of her surviving descendants now that she has managed to flee. For the plot to continue, she would eventually have to return to Split Rivers. When she does, she will be acting like the actual Maddie, but with a startlingly different personality that will make people wonder what’s going on. Although it is a cliché, this one is expected. Naturally, Janet won’t want to hand over Maddie’s body to her, which might lead to a variety of intricate plans to try and persuade her to pass on to the other side and settle her differences with whomever. But we anticipate that some issues regarding the worth of life itself may come up during this process. Even Janet has no future after her mother’s treachery, so why is Maddie’s life so much better than Janet’s? Adding that she has prospects. Given that her life was so unfairly robbed from her years ago, why does Janet not deserve to take them? We anticipate the discussions surrounding these issues.
Simon and Maddie s Other Living Friends
Simon is currently through a problem. When Janet enters Maddie’s body again, she can act in a way that reveals the reality, or Maddie might try to persuade him that she is real. Wally, Maddie, and Simon will also cause some friction. Maddie won’t always be a ghost, but Wally will. Will she still love Wally if and when she reincarnates, or will she move on to Simon or perhaps someone else entirely? Even when the ghosts are centuries old, no matter how old the participants are, love triangles typically center around the same issues. Regarding love triangles, we believe Nicole and Xavier may experience a conflict. Claire won’t like it, and the situation is twisted by guilt and hypocrisy. Nicole despises Claire for dating the boyfriend of her best friend, but if Nicole follows suit, things will only grow uglier.
As for the sheriff, given the evidence that Maddie is still alive and well, he will be compelled to free Roger South. But after she returns, she might face punishment for sending everyone on a wild goose hunt. Finally, Sandra must consider how she would react to the return of a daughter who is no longer interested in looking after her. Additionally, Janet could not hesitate to use Sandra as leverage for her personal gain.
Mr. Martin and The Spirits
At the conclusion of Season 1 of School Spirits, we witnessed Mr. Martin glancing menacingly at Maddie as she descended the stairs. Is he going to imprison her alongside the other spirits in the chamber, or is he going to finally reveal who he really is? He must explain to the spirits why he has been maintaining a record of their deaths, lives, and overall growth because he has a lot to answer for. He must also clarify Janet’s situation and whether or not he is to blame for the spirits’ continued confinement at the school. Sincerity be damned, Mr. Martin might be a useful approach to investigate the biology of these ghosts. They appear to have the same abilities as regular people, so why can’t they just simply go through the door when it comes to their ghost privileges? We require these responses. We also want to know if he really is an adversary or just someone who can’t accept responsibility for their actions. We would want to see Mr. Martin play a bigger part in Season 2 of School Spirits because he was mostly in the background for Season 1 of the show.
A protagonist (Maddie) who promises to be legitimately complicated has hardly been touched upon in Season 1 of School Spirits, which was everything we wanted it to be. We want to see a happier Maddie as the plot develops, one who is not burdened by the weight of her existence and is able to laugh more frequently. We’re hopeful that Season 2 will air soon.
