Big Man was first presented to us in the first episode of Sweet Tooth Season 1, and we immediately sensed that there was a lot cooking inside of him. Big Man discovered where Gus was staying and, while arriving there with quite different goals, ended up saving Gus’ life by killing the poacher who was trying to kidnap him. The real name of Big Man was Thomas Tommy Jeppard, and we could tell from his somber expression and regretful eyes that the epidemic had taken a heavy toll on him and that he was still dealing with the sadness it had left behind.
Spoiler Warning
When Big Man first encountered Gus and his intriguing encampment, which Richard had turned into a usable area, amidst the trees in Sweet Toothseason 1, he was astounded for a number of different reasons. He had never before encountered a hybrid that could communicate so effectively, and he had no idea that a family had been lurking in the woods for such a long time. Just by looking at him, Big Man could tell Gus was terrified since he wouldn’t respond to any of his questions. The water pipes were leaking, and Gus was obviously too small to maintain the entire setup and take care of everything himself. Big Man also noticed that the small garden where Richard used to grow plants and crops was in poor condition. In that brief period, Gus’ gut instinct led him to believe that this man was reliable, and he made the decision to ask Big Man to drive him to Colorado, where he thought his mother was staying. Big Man declined his request since he didn’t feel like taking on the duties of a kid, let alone a hybrid one. Knowing how Abbot’s men were searching for the hybrids, he was unwilling to put his own life in danger to aid Gus in finding his mother, whose prognosis for survival was extremely poor. Gus, though, was obstinate, and he was determined to seize this chance. Gus had lived all of his life in the forest, but when he realized he needed a ride to Colorado, he decided to join Big Man and leave the forest for the first time ever.
What Had Happened To Big Man s Family?
Thomas Jeppard was a well-known football player who played for the Guardians prior to the H5G9 virus epidemic. The H5G9 virus had only begun to spread, and the situation had quickly fallen into anarchy and mayhem when his wife Louisa, who was expecting, went into delivery. The people simply rushed to the hospitals in the expectation that the medical staff could assist them in some way because they were unaware of what was happening to them. There was a manpower deficit and flooding in the hospitals. To make matters worse, the doctors at the time had no idea what kind of virus they were dealing with and undoubtedly had no cure.
When Big Man and his wife arrived at the hospital, he asked the medical staff to admit her and informed them that she was pregnant and not infected. After much pleading and persuasion, the physicians finally agreed to admit her. Big Man was horrified to learn that his child was a hybrid, and he was unable to handle the situation. Because people didn’t fully understand how hybrids operated, they were thought to be the cause of the virus’s spread and were therefore detested as abominations. Because he was unsure of how to approach his wife and didn’t want to look at his infant, Big Man took the elevator down. As a result of his chat with Dr. Adtiya Singh, who worked in the same hospital, Big Man came to the conclusion that he could not simply forsake his family because his child was born a hybrid. Once more going up, Big Man was horrified to see that his wife and child were nowhere to be found.
The pandemic was still in its early stages, and the Last Man Legion’s foundation was being established. In the hopes that they would find his wife and child, Big Man enlisted in Abbot’s army. However, nothing of the sort transpired. Big Man eventually came to the decision to tell his superior that he wouldn’t work for them until and unless he learned more about his family. In agreement, his superior requested him to meet his contact in order to learn more about the whereabouts of his family. That contact gave Big Man a bag containing the skeletal remains of his wife and child in episode 5 of Sweet Tooth Season 2. Big Man sobbed like a young child while holding the bag close to his chest. Big Man held himself responsible for his suffering since he thought his family would still be alive if he hadn’t abandoned them.
Will Big Man Find Birdie In Sweet Tooth Season 3?
Over time, Big Man began to develop an emotional attachment to Gus—something he had always avoided since losing his family. Both his personal tragedy and Gus’ endearing personality were essential in causing him to shed his tough façade and accept the tiny guy as a member of his family. Big Man had a marking on his breast that Becky’s animal army had observed, letting them know that he was one of the Last Men. They were going to kill him, but Gus made sure to fiercely defend Big Man and convince them that he wasn’t a bad guy. Big Man observed that Gus could have easily abandoned him because Becky would still have assisted him in reaching Colorado, but he decided to stay and guard him instead. Big Man had previously lost his family, and he didn’t want to do it again. Given that both Gus and Big Man had lost their families and lacked family members of their own, Big Man came to see that they shared many characteristics.
Big Man had come a long way from intending to dump Gus at Andersons to organizing a rescue operation with Aimee Eden to attacking Abbot’s army. Along the way, he had also discovered someone he could call his family. The hybrids were saved by Big Man and Aimee, who took them to Gus’s former home in the woods, where he now lives with Richard. Big Man made the decision to accompany Gus to Alaska in order to discover Gus’ mother, despite the fact that he was not the kind to go on dangerous missions and put his own life in danger. Gus still had a chance, and as long as that hope was present, he wanted to continue his search, no matter how pointless and unrealistic it occasionally seemed. Big Man knew he would never be able to bring his family back, but Gus still had a shot.
Given that Big Man, Wendy, and Becky have chosen to travel with Gus to Alaska, they may discover the mysteries that the state has been hiding as well as be able to reunite Gus with Dr. Gertrude Miller. The precise site of the outpost was located by Becky and was noted in the Fort Smith-related papers that Richard had drew his sketches on. It cannot be denied that discovering someone who has been gone from the scene for the past 10 years and who additionally does not want to be discovered will not be a simple assignment. However, this piece of knowledge will provide the group some leverage in Sweet ToothSeason 3. We think Big Man and Gus would also be crucial in finding a treatment for the illness, and maybe their appearance will aid Dr. Miller in discovering the crucial piece that she had not been able to uncover up until that point.
