Hannah and Bailey discovered themselves slipping deeper into the rabbit hole in Austin in last week’s episode of The Last Thing He Told Me, especially after coming across Owen’s preferred math teacher, Tobias Cookman. Grady Bradford was instructed by his superior to drop the case and stop monitoring Hannah and Bailey because she believed that the mother-daughter combination deserved to bear the consequences of Owen’s actions, while Cookman drew a blank when recalling his altercations with Owen. Grady did abandon the investigation up until the moment he learned Hannah and Bailey were in Austin, at which point he decided to reopen it because he realized they were in great danger. Even a picture in the archives of the institution Owen presumably attended, which showed a woman who resembled Bailey, gave us a glimpse as to what Hannah and Bailey were delving into.
Warning: Spoilers
Hannah And Bailey Try To Figure Out Who The Woman In The Picture Is
When recalling her father’s responses to her questions about her mother, Bailey can only recall that he was incredibly evasive. Nevertheless, he claimed that Bailey did resemble her mother despite altering the image of her. Hannah and Bailey decide to visit the woman’s family’s pub, The Never Dry, in order to find out more information based on the woman’s name, Katherine Smith. Grady Bradford takes all necessary efforts to guarantee Hannah and Bailey’s safety in the meantime, this time with the approval of Maris Anderson, her boss.
Grady doesn’t know where Hannah and Bailey are, so they are able to exploit their head start to find Charlie Smith, the proprietor of The Never Dry. Although Charlie’s Facebook profile indicates that he is unmarried, prior records indicated that he was married to a woman by the name of Andrea Reyes. What’s surprising, though, is that Bailey appears to recognize Andrea when she sees her picture. Bailey believes she will be able to put the puzzle together if she visits The Never Dry. Hannah, on the other hand, cautions her against doing it because she is unsure of who is around. She then enters the bar after sending Bailey to a nearby cafe to wait.
Hannah recognizes Katherine right away, along with Charlie, the current bar owner, and perhaps Andrea, his wife. She tries to learn more about Charlie’s connection to the university when he enters. When she tries to introduce Charlie to Katherine, he becomes agitated. He finally acknowledges that she was killed in a vehicle accident, which somewhat matches what Owen had claimed about Bailey’s mother.
Hannah And Bailey Are Chased By Charlie Smith
Grady obtains Maris’s tacit consent to trace Hannah’s phone in order to learn her precise location. He also receives a phone with a picture of Owen and Katherine on the lock screen and a virtual note containing information regarding emails sent by Avett Thompson and Grant Johnson. In order to travel to Andrea’s apartment with her, Bailey sets out for The Never Dry when Bobby finds Andrea’s address and gives it to her. By the time Hannah arrives, she has already revealed that she is seeking for Owen, which puts her in a bit of a bind. She doesn’t say that name, though. She does display his photo, and Charlie is severely agitated by this.
Charlie identifies Bailey as Kristin (which is presumably her real name), just as he is about to become a little too physical with Hannah. Hannah commands Bailey to flee, and Charlie starts to follow them as they realize that everything is much more complicated than they initially thought. Charlie loses both of them in the crowd after a fairly dull and protracted foot chase. Hannah and Bailey can now flee from him as a result of this. Bailey becomes distracted as she starts remembering that she was there as a child and, strangely enough, she remembers being referred to as Kristie by her dad after reaching the bottom of a bridge, which is reportedly a tourist destination for seeing bats. As a result of this deluge of information, Hannah recognizes that Bailey is experiencing a panic attack. She urges her to return to the hotel as a result because she doesn’t want Charlie to see them both again.
Bailey Goes Missing
Grady claims that Owen, who he just spoke with on the phone, is providing him evidence of Avett’s involvement in the hoax. Grady believes Owen was attempting to prevent The Shop’s most recent project from going live until all the bugs were ironed out. As a result, even though Owen is completely innocent, it’s plausible that Avett is attempting to bring Owen down with him. That means Owen’s past has nothing to do with his present situation and that the fact that his case in Austin has been reopened as a result of the scam at The Shop is just a coincidence. Grady gathers a crew and makes his way to the hotel that Hannah and Bailey are staying at after learning its name.
As for Hannah and Bailey, Hannah is prepared to return home because Austin is becoming more hazardous by the second. Because she hasn’t yet met Andrea Reyes, Bailey is hesitant to leave. Hannah recalls Owen’s response when she enquired about Bailey’s mother. Jules calls her and reveals that she discovered Owen’s real identity is Ethan Young from a handwritten will that was hidden inside a safe that was in Hannah’s grandfather’s vase. I am aware of how challenging it is. Jules and Jake advise Hannah to leave Austin since she is unintentionally dealing with Nicholas Bell before she has time to digest that.
Nicholas Bell, who is he? Bell is a mob lawyer who works for the Campano family and is the father of Katherine Smith, the husband of Owen. Owen reportedly took the evidence against the Campanos and Bell and sent it over to the state governments following Kate’s passing. Therefore, I believe we can calculate what he will do if he learns that the woman who upended his life’s course and his own granddaughter are in his city. In a nod to the scene from the premiere of The Last Thing He Told Me, Hannah destroys her phone at Jake’s urging so that she can’t be found. However, Bailey is nowhere to be found when she exits the restroom.
She likely visited Andrea’s home because she wanted to, and thanks to Bobby, she knows where Andrea’s house is located. After retrieving Hannah and Bailey’s photographs from the CCTV camera, Charlie heads back to The Never Dry and calls Nicholas Bell. Grady enters Hannah’s hotel room, which surprises Hannah and explains why she was stunned when we initially saw this scenario, and he issues a missing person alert for Bailey. Will Bailey succeed in finding Andrea? Yes, as she is in possession of the address. Will Andrea call the police or will she notify Nicholas or Charlie and hand Bailey over to one of them? It’s likely that she will look after her and assist her in making up for any memory gaps if her relationship with Nicholas and Charlie has soured. But those are just my conjectures. The real answers won’t be revealed until next week’s show.
